Juan Marulanda is a Colombian composer and music engraver. His music draws from contemporary practices, jazz, and Colombian musical traditions. His compositions have been performed internationally and recognized with awards including two Colombian National Music Awards and first prize in the “Ciudad Santa Fe de Bogotá” Composition Contest.

He is the founder of Scoremusical, serves on the board of ACCOMPÁS, and has consulted for Colombia’s Ministry of Culture. An experienced educator, he has taught composition and theory in Colombia and the United States.

Marulanda’s work treats musical ideas as flexible objects—reshaped, reimagined, and transformed over time. He enjoys biking and trekking, where he finds inspiration for his creative endeavors.
